Caitlin Kioa is a qualified nutritionist and the talent behind all of the healthy ready made meals at Chefgood. She loves getting creative in the kitchen and developing tasty and nutritious recipes that everyone will enjoy. Here she share’s a behind the scenes look into her nourished life.

Over to you Caitlin…

Finish this sentence: ’Everyone that knows me knows that...I'm slightly OCD but also really chill haha.

What does living a nourished life mean to you? Living a nourished life to me means being happy and healthy and always having a goal to work towards to keep me driven.

What sparked your passion for health & wellness? Initially it was my love for fitness. I loved the feeling of pushing myself with my training so I started to do my own research and experiment with nutrition to improve my strength, fitness and recovery. Now that I'm a mum, I'm still into fitness but my passion and focus has shifted to living a more balanced lifestyle and emphasis on teaching my family the same.

Describe your food philosophy: I believe in eating good food and everything in moderation. Whilst I try to avoid processed foods and sugar, I have learnt to be flexible which has allowed me to have a balanced lifestyle.

Tell us about what a typical day on your plate looks like: For breakfast I usually make porridge or a smoothie if I'm in a rush. I try to include a balance of protein, carbs and fats at breakfast as this keeps me feeling full. For lunch I either have a Chefgood meal or I might whip up something quick like a grain salad or wrap. I love to cook but also time poor so for dinner I use the slow cooker and oven a lot. I snack on things like nuts and seeds, fruit and our Chefgood protein balls or cookies.

One bit of health advice you wish everyone would follow: Don't over complicate things, especially when it comes to weight loss and general health. There are a lot of fad diets out there that might work short term but the key is to achieve long term health and find a solution that fits your beliefs and lifestyle.

What is one health, wellness or personal development book that you think everyone should read? I use a journal called Daily Greatness Wellness Journal and I find it useful for planning my health goals, nutrition and exercise. I mostly use it to track my wellness and mindset goals but I find it really helpful overall as I like writing things down.

Last but not least, where can people find you? I can be found on our website www.chefgood.com.au, socials and LinkedIn.
