Healthy Chocolate Crackle Slice

I don’t know about you but I used to love chocolate crackles as a kid! After thinking about trying this healthy version for so long, I finally gave it a go and was really happy with the result. Whether you’re a big kid (like me) or a mum looking for a healthier version of this sweet treat for your family - this is one you won’t want to miss.

Healthy Chocolate Crackle Slice

Gluten Free | Nut Free | Vegan

Serves 12+

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups rice puffs

  • 1 cup shredded coconut

  • 1 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds

  • 1/4 cup cacao powder

  • 1 cup cacao butter

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Method:

  1. Line a rectangle slice tray with baking paper.

  2. Combine the rice puffs, shredded coconut, sunflower seeds and cacao powder in a bowl.

  3. In a double boiler over the stove, melt the cacao butter and coconut oil. Once melted, stir through the maple syrup.

  4. Pour the melted liquid over the crackle ingredients in the bowl. Stir well to combine and ensure everything is coated.

  5. Transfer the chocolate crackle into the lined tray and flatten the surface.

  6. Place in the fridge overnight to set.

  7. Remove from the fridge to slice and enjoy!

I cut these into 12 generously sized serves, so you can certainly get more out of these if you make the pieces slightly smaller.

Be sure to snap a picture and tag me @projectnourish when you make these - can’t wait to see your creations!
