This smoothie recipe is my favourite green smoothie and a go to whenever I feel like I need an extra hit of greens. One of the things I love most about it is that it tastes absolutely delicious while being incredibly nourishing! Green smoothies really don’t need to taste like grass, and this one is a great example of how good they can be. Whether you need a snack throughout the day or you’re looking for a good breakfast to start the morning, this one is a must try. I know you’ll love it.
If you are having this one for breakfast add in a scoop of natural protein powder; brown rice protein or pea protein are great options. One I’m currently using and loving is Amazonia Raw Protein Isolate in the vanilla flavour, it works perfectly with this smoothie too which is a bonus. By adding protein into the recipe it’ll keep you fuller for longer and make for a more satisfying meal.
Nourishing Green Smoothie
Vegan, Sugar Free, Nut Free & Gluten Free
- 1 small banana
- 1 kiwi fruit
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 tbsp pepitas
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 tbsp greens powder (e.g. vital greens)
- Prepare the ingredients and place them all into a blender.
- Turn the blender on to high speed and blend until it turns smooth, without any chunks.
- Once combined, turn the blender off and pour the smoothie into a glass of your choice.
Thats it, so simple but so nutritious. It’s great for when you’re in a rush. Enjoy!
